For the Young Pianist: Anthology - 1st Grade

You hold in your hands an anthology of pedagogical repertoire for 1st grade students of a children's music school. The compilation of this collection was prompted by the need to have at hand, in one textbook, a sufficient amount of... musical-pedagogical material for teaching a child to play the piano throughout the entire year. The collection includes pieces from many previously published textbooks, allowing to address the challenges of this period of learning. In accordance with the curriculum requirements of music schools and children's art schools, the anthology includes works representing the following sections: polyphony, large form, pieces, etudes, and ensembles. The extensive artistic and instructional material allows for the selection of a sufficient number of pieces to acquire and consolidate knowledge and skills, taking into account the individual capabilities of the student. Due to the characteristics of the initial period of learning, the material is not divided into sections but is presented according to the principle of gradual complexity. The entire selection and systematization of works reflect well-known pedagogical principles and are equally the result of many years of experience working with children by the authors-compilers.
