This book is the autobiography of our contemporary Olga Romanova. A journalist, two-time winner of the TEFI award, founder and director of the Charitable Foundation for helping convicts and their families "Rusy Sidiashaya", laureate of the Buzerious (Hamburg), Gaidar (Moscow),... Sappho (Copenhagen), Artem Borovik (Moscow) awards, the Moscow Helsinki Group award, and the "Liberal Mission" foundation award. This is what is on the surface, the biographical details. But what about life, feelings, thoughts? This book is only about them. From childhood to the present day, Olga Romanova lives her life before us, cleansed of the husks of questionnaires and common myths. Not everything is told, and of course, probably not everything is objective, as with any autobiography. But it is extremely candid about what she decided to share with us, her readers and contemporaries. They grabbed me by the scruff and shook me well. First, these three witches. Then another one. And another. Well, I had no way out. But I couldn’t give up either. I resisted fiercely. Changed tactics and ignored them. Or argued and bit. I deceived them: I said that I would do it – and did not do it. And then I gave in and did what they wanted from me. I wrote this book. I did not intend to be candid. But that’s how it turned out. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have let go. Thank you, witches. My friends who were with me when I almost gave up. But I only gave in to them, and only in this. When I grow up, I will also become a witch.
