Wilhelm Hauff 1802—1827 is one of the most famous fairy tale writers in the world, alongside H.C. Andersen, C. Perrault, and others. Hauff loved books from childhood and read them with pleasure, thanks to his grandfather who had a large... library. After graduating from university, Hauff became a tutor for the children of Baron Ernst von Hügel. It was for them that he wrote his first fairy tales, including the tale "Little Muk," which was published in 1826. The following year, a second collection of fairy tales was released, which included "Dwarf Nose." Hauff traveled a lot during his lifetime, and his fairy tales intricately intertwine European and Eastern motifs, transporting readers into a world of wonders. The collection features a classic translation of the tales by Mikhail Salye — an orientalist and philologist. Illustrations by Alexander Azemshi.
