Letters of Fallen Heroes

A sheet of paper folded into a triangle. A postcard. A homemade envelope. Sometimes just a Komsomol membership card, a cigarette pack, or a scrap of paper. On them were letters from the front, lines from diaries, addresses, notes… All... of them were written before a battle, under artillery fire, in a trench, at a table in a dugout, on the wall of a prison cell. And it doesn't matter what they were written with – a pen, a pencil, a nail, a piece of brick… They were written with the heart of a person who understands that he is destined to perish and that this message will be his last… Reading this book, one sees the horrifying scenes of the Great Patriotic War. Tears blur the eyes, but at the same time, a feeling of admiration arises for the heroism and steadfastness of people in the face of death, people who spared no effort for the Great Victory.
