Kalinov Most. Selected Songs and Poems with Commentaries

The leader of the legendary Siberian group «Kalinov Most» Dmitry Rev-yakin occupies a special place among poets of Russian rock. Formally, this is manifested in the fact that, as researchers noted, his poetic texts far surpass all other rock musicians... in our country in lexical diversity. Rev-yakin's fascination with history, as well as the poetry of the reformer of the Russian language Velimir Khlebnikov, has played a significant role in this. Dmitry Alexandrovich Rev-yakin, whom fans respectfully and with an obvious hint call «DAR» — is a true Siberian nugget. Growing up in distant Transbaikalia, he wrote a huge number of songs at the edge of the earth — between the ocean and the volcanoes of Kamchatka, he absorbed the energy and meanings of the vast Eurasian space of the former Soviet Union and created his unique poetic language. Many of our compatriots, even those far from domestic rock, have heard his song «Rodnaya». However, not everyone knows that in addition to more than two dozen albums with «Kalinov Most» and solo works, he is also the author of six poetry books. The works from all these publications are presented in this collection. The song lyrics are arranged for the first time not by album cycles (the famous «Vyvoreten», «Darza», «Uzar-en», «Poyas Ulchi», «Oruzhiye», etc.), but in chronological order with dates and places of writing, so the general genesis of many works becomes evident, whose release was sometimes separated by decades. Moreover, many texts of still unpublished songs are being published for the first time, and a whole range of such «new items» belongs to the now classic period of Rev-yakin's creative flourishing in the «nineties» of the last century.
The book includes rare photographs, drafts, and autographs of the poet.
