Treasury. Extracts from the astrological compendiums of Rhetorius of Egypt and Porphyry

“Treasury” by Antiochus of Athens is a guide to Hellenistic astrology translated into Russian for the first time from ancient Greek, compiled by one of the most influential ancient experts on astrological art. This work, written in the 2nd century... AD, provides insight into the scope and variety of methods used by astrologers of that era, and opens the way to many now-forgotten approaches to astrological practice. Some of the methods presented by Antiochus are not found in other sources.
All fragments of the “Treasury” that have reached us are presented with detailed analytical comments. The appendix provides a dictionary of ancient Greek astrological terms with references to the definitions given by Antiochus.
