For the first time in the world, an attempt has been made to collect under one cover more than 8 thousand Moscow addresses: from proto-abbot Avvakum, Kantemir and Fonvizin to Akhmatova, Solzhenitsyn, and Brodsky. 20 addresses of Pushkin, 19 – Chekhov, 14 – Bunin, 24 – Yesenin, 26 – the «eternally homeless» Akhmatova in Moscow, and thousands and thousands of names of poets, prose writers, literary scholars, bibliophiles, and connoisseurs of the Russian word. This book is the culmination of the author's life! – it was not written by pages and not even by paragraphs – but by lines with house numbers and street names. Based on mentions in memoirs, annotations, comments on letters, lists in house books and directories, in encyclopedias and city studies literature. It not only documents the surviving or lost houses of old Moscow but also collects addresses of famous salons, literary meetings, home «Tuesdays», «Thursdays» and «Fridays», as well as the names of those who occasionally visited them. The second volume of the atlas-duology by V.M. Nedoshivin is aimed at both literature enthusiasts and specialists. It is, I believe, also a reason for discoveries in the science of literature: in its toponymy, in the emergence of directions, creative unions, in prototypes of literary heroes, finally – in studying the influence of newspapers and magazines on creativity, whose addresses are also provided.
