Yevgeny Lvovich Schwartz 1896–1958 – a famous Russian prose writer, storyteller, playwright, and screenwriter. Based on Yevgeny Schwartz's scripts, famous Soviet films were made: “Cinderella,” “First Grader,” and “Don Quixote,” and the premiere of the play “Ordinary Miracle” took place.... The main character of the story “First Grader” is Marusya, who dreams of going to school. The girl is so eager to enroll in the first grade that she secretly runs away from home to submit her application. The lively and mischievous Marusya still has to become a diligent and hardworking student. The book also includes Yevgeny Schwartz's stories “The Strange Girl,” “The Adventures of Shura and Marusya,” and others.
