for a long time. Thanks to years of work by researchers, the volume compiled by Dmitry Nabokov was enriched with new works, resulting in over sixty stories, written by Nabokov between 1920 and 1951 in European emigration and in America, being collected under one cover by 2008. In addition to well-known works, this complete collection of stories includes rare early writings, as well as forewords and notes by Nabokov from English collections. The Appendix publishes works that were not included in previous collections of stories. The edition is supplied with a foreword and notes by D. The English stories are printed in the translation of Gennady Barabtarlo, prepared with the participation of Vera Nabokov. The features of the translator's spelling, punctuation, and transliteration have been preserved
