May I be happy?

This book is about women born in the USSR who had to "live in an era of change."
In their youth, they dreamed of a little bottle of "Maybe," brewed their own lipstick, sewed clothes that were indistinguishable from the creations... of fashion designers because buying all this in an era of shortage was impossible, yet they very much wanted to look beautiful.
As they grew older, they gave birth to children in Soviet maternity hospitals, where the only medications were sometimes just bandages and zelenka, stood in endless lines, and saw Paris only on the program "International Panorama."
But they did not lose their optimism and femininity—they fell in love, parted ways, and committed recklessness for their loved ones.
So this book is about happy women. About how life eventually reciprocates to those who love it.
