Golden Horde

The trilogy of Ilyas Yesenberlin "Golden Horde" is a monumental historical canvas, on which we see the birth and decline of a state formation, consisting of many tribes and peoples, - the Golden Horde. Batu Khan, son of Juchi and grandson of the Conqueror of the universe - Genghis Khan, following his commandments, managed to do much by conquering many lands and strengthening the Horde. Batu Khan built the capital of the Golden Horde - the magnificent city of Sarai-Batu. But Batu Khan dies, and the entire Horde mourns. On the throne sit people who cannot boast of either the character, courage, or vision of their predecessor. The struggle for the throne and the constant fear of losing it, internal strife, treachery, and betrayal take their toll - the Horde weakens, the commandments and laws of the Conqueror of the universe lose their value, and the shine of the sword of the Golden Horde warrior dims. The trilogy depicts the fate of an ordinary person who desires nothing more than a peaceful life.
