Evgeny Andreevich Permyak, real surname Vissov 1902–1982 – a Russian writer, author of essays, short stories, fairy tales, plays, novellas, and novels. He chose his creative pseudonym in honor of his hometown of Perm. Even in his youth, he mastered the professions of carpenter, locksmith, shoemaker, lathe operator, and blacksmith. Therefore, most of his stories and fairy tales are dedicated to labor: How Masha Became Big, The Golden Nail, The Hasty Little Knife, The Stranger's Gate, Who Grinds the Flour, The Mystery of the Price, and others. In Evgeny Permyak's fairy tales, the most ordinary things that surround us come to life, and animals are endowed with human qualities: Magical Paints, The Clever Mat, The Moon, The Puddle and the One-eyed Crow, The Hedgehog-Forsikha.
