The football club Spartak experienced different times. Long-term peaks of the 50s and 90s, when the red-white team was the dominant club in the USSR and Russia. Quite stable 60s with two championships. The catastrophe of the 70s, when the most popular club in the country fell to relegation to the first league. A triumphant return, the gold of '79 and beautiful play in the 80s — it was rather a decade of aesthetics than a race for results. The decline of the 2000s after the firing of Oleg Romantsev.
