The treatise of Sun Tzu, written in the 6th century BC, is considered the most revered and foundational source of systematic knowledge in the field of so-called Chinese strategic thought, characterized by the "stratagem approach" - planning with the aim of outsmarting the opponent. For millennia, the ancient canon has served as a practical guide for outstanding military leaders, politicians, and statesmen in Asia. In the 20th century, Sun Tzu's teachings became particularly popular among strategists and businessmen in the Western world, yet a systematic understanding of the concept of "victory without battle" did not occur. This was largely due to the "non-linear" structure and complexity in interpreting the original source. This book is the result of four years of work on rethinking, restructuring, and interpreting the treatise of Sun Tzu to present its content in the most accessible and systematic form for a wider audience. As a result, the text has become easier to perceive, has a simple and understandable appearance for the modern reader, and its structure has been radically overhauled into a coherent and logical exposition. Additionally, to make it easier for the reader to navigate and understand the complex meaning of the ancient Chinese canon, commentary on each line or paragraph of the text is provided on the left pages of the book.
