The Seducer's Diary
"The Seducer's Diary" is a component of the central philosophical work of the Danish thinker Søren Kierkegaard "Either/Or" (1843). The diary of the main character, Johannes, is toxic, ruthless, and witty; in the masks of Don Juan, Faust, and Mephistopheles,... he cynically describes the tactics of subjugating the innocent girl Cordelia. The crisis of romanticism painfully unfolds before us, as Kierkegaard models love, in which the Other is merely an object of manipulation.
