A dense wall of bodies at "Folies-Bergère". A bachelor mourns his loneliness in a tavern. Parc Monceau - a cold, oily glimmer. "The Necromancer of the Pencil" by Redon wanders, like other images, on the pages of Huysmans' "Parisian Arabesques".... The author balances, we see both naturalistic - with a drenched chestnut seller, powdered street women, with a dirty and exhausted fishmonger - stories, and short poetic ascents to Baudelaire's "Prose Poems". J.-K. Huysmans preserved for us images of a disappearing world, depicting the landscapes of Paris and its surroundings, where a chilly, tired look is visible.
