Lydia Ponomareva 09.20.1996 — 03.15.2022 — a Russian Playboy model, was among the ten most beautiful women in the country. Lydia left this life suddenly. Her family and friends are deeply mourning the loss of the girl. Shortly before her death, she published a small print run of her book — a collection of poems. This is how Lydia wrote about it: When and how has a woman in our time come to fear showing her weakness? And why is sexuality now equated with vulgarity? The answer is simple — women have ceased to be seen as a source of strength and beauty. I can say with full confidence that this collection of poems is my candid confession to the world and a very intimate conversation with the reader. For here lies a piece of my soul: on every page I expose myself to you, in every sense. I am grateful to each of my readers with whom I can share my little life story. The accompanying photographs to the poems are chosen intentionally. Sexuality is as natural as beauty. Every woman is free to dispose of her body as she wishes. Her mother decided to republish the collection so that everyone who cared about Lydia could keep a piece of her soul. The funds raised from the sale of this book will go towards building a memorial for Lydia. May she rest in peace.
