At the same time, Mary's wealthy brother Henry began to show affection for the main character and proposed to her. Fanny faced a choice: should she listen to her heart and wait for Edmund's reciprocated feelings, or follow the arguments of reason, agreeing to marry Crawford — a very advantageous match for her. And Fanny, of course, made the right choice — for the image of the girl was created by Jane Austen, and her heroines are endowed not only with a kind and capable heart but also with common sense, helping in difficult life situations.
