Fanny faced a choice: should she listen to her heart and wait for Edmund's reciprocated feelings, or follow the arguments of reason, agreeing to marry Crawford — a very beneficial match for her. And Fanny, of course, made the right choice — for the image of the girl was created by Jane Austen, and her heroines are endowed not only with a kind and loving heart, but also with common sense, which helps in difficult life situations.
