The Brain and Its Needs. From Nutrition to Recognition

Writing a book dedicated to the neurobiology of behavior was prompted for Professor Dubynin by the success of his lecture course "The Brain and Needs." Biological needs are the foundation of our mental activity. Constantly replacing one another, they drive... a person to take certain actions, set goals, and achieve them. Whether momentary or long-term, biological needs motivate each of us and drive the economy, science, art, and ultimately history. By uncovering the themes of the book: hunger and curiosity, fear and aggression, love and care for offspring, the desire to lead, freedom, joy of movement, — the author aims to bring the reader closer to understanding their own brain and body, explaining how to become a skilled user of the mechanisms and programs of the nervous system embedded in us by nature, in order to express and realize personal talents.
