Runaway Sisters

London, 1942. Thirteen-year-old Nell and her younger sister Olive live in one of the city's poor neighborhoods. Here, neighbors share both hardships and joys, and celebrate holidays in the streets with songs. Here, they do not let their own be... offended and know how to stand up for themselves. But the war is on, and every night an air raid siren sounds over the docks.

When it becomes too dangerous in the city, thousands of families send their children into evacuation. Like many, Nell and Olive face the unknown. Who will agree to take them in? What will their new home be like? Even in a wonderful English village, life is not sweet. The sisters learn that the kindness of strangers coexists with cruelty, and friendship - with ignorance. The sisters also discover that no place can replace their native home. Who will they meet along the way, what dangers will they face? After walking hundreds of kilometers, will they find their loved ones?
