In her early twenties, Alexia is considered an old maid, and that’s all because the story takes place in a slightly modified Victorian England with its morals and rules. But Alexia - horror of horrors! - loves to read, is... interested in technological advancements and the inquiries of scientists, is capable of talking not only about hat styles (which she does impeccably) and is always ready to stand up for herself. And she can turn any supernatural creature into an ordinary mortal with just one touch. She simply has no soul (to understand what this is about, one needs to glance at the first chapter of the first volume), but she has intellect and emotions, which she is utterly unable to decipher due to her upbringing.

1. "Soulless". One evening during a dinner party, Alexia narrowly escapes becoming a victim of a hungry vampire who brazenly violates all norms of etiquette. The girl had to resort to her favorite weapon - an umbrella with a silver tip, and the incident ended tragically. By virtue of his duty to investigate the demise of the ill-mannered bloodsucker, the leader of the London werewolf pack, Lord Maccon, takes on the case. He is powerful, ferocious, and magnificent. And he sympathizes with Alexia, although she is unaware of this...

2. "Unchanging". One day Alexia wakes up at noon to the angry shouts of her husband, who, as a proper werewolf, should be peacefully sleeping at that time... Then he disappears, leaving his wife to deal with a whole regiment of supernatural soldiers. And this is just the first link in a chain of alarming events that will require the immediate intervention of the only extraordinary agent in service to Her Majesty Queen Victoria.
