Nikolai Pavlovich Zadornov (1909-1992) - a famous Russian writer, an honored cultural figure of the Latvian SSR (1969). He is the author of two major cycles of works about the development of Siberia and the Far East by Russian pioneers... in the 19th century. The novel "Amur-Father" tells about the past of the Amur Region, about the harsh living conditions of peasant settlers in the 1860s-70s, about their conquest of the wild nature of the region, and, of course, about the friendship with the local peoples, without which it would have been impossible to survive in the new place. In 1952, the novel was awarded the State Prize of the USSR.
