The main goal of this collection is to teach children of preschool and early school age to play the piano. Currently, children are starting to be taught not at 6-7 years old as it was before, but at 5 years...
old and even younger, so there is a need for new textbooks designed for this age group. It is very important that from the very first lessons, the child not only listens to music but can also play something themselves, so great attention is paid to the initial period of training in this School.
The new school consists of three sections, covering the educational material from preparatory to 3rd grade of a children's music school. The basis of the collection is the "golden" fund of children's piano literature, domestic and foreign piano classics, without which the development of a young musician is impossible.
The first part of the School is a piano alphabet, which presents a completely new educational material offered for learning the keyboard and music theory. Its presence favorably distinguishes this manual from previously published ones, where the section dedicated to the initial training period is almost absent or minimized. The songs, which are abundantly presented in this part, are understandable even to the youngest musicians, accessible for performance, and convenient for singing. The amount of material offered to master the primary techniques of playing the instrument is quite sufficient to reinforce the acquired knowledge and skills. To develop children's imaginative and associative thinking, the first part of the School is illustrated. The verbal text combined with images stimulates the child's imagination, allows for discussion of the song's content, and attempts to convey it in a musical language.
The next two parts are built on the principle of traditional collections for beginners.
The second section is intended for students of 1st and 2nd grades. It includes all necessary sections of the program, and the repertoire is structured by degree of complexity. Traditionally used in pedagogical practice works by classical composers and arrangements of folk songs are supplemented with new pieces by contemporary composers.
The third part contains pedagogical repertoire for students of 2nd and 3rd grades. All sections of the program are also presented here: polyphonic works, large forms, pieces, studies.
