Commanders of Holy Russia

Vladimir Rus existed for two centuries: from the second half of the 12th century, during the reign of Andrey Bogolyubsky, to the second half of the 14th century, the era of Dmitry Donskoy. It was historically a unified region with... a common capital — Vladimir, which was a symbol of the unity of North-Eastern Rus. In the early 14th century, it found itself in a desperate situation. Ruined, fragmented, depopulated under the yoke of the Horde, it seemed it would never regain its former greatness. But it became the core of future Russia, the soil on which a unified Russian state arose. It became the crucible from which Holy Russia emerged — the land of ascetic monks who enlightened the vast spaces of the North with the faith of Christ. Finally, it preserved the experience of Byzantine autocracy, the state structure of a true Empire. This book is dedicated to four outstanding rulers and commanders of Vladimir Rus.
