Treasure Island

The most famous pirate novel was conceived by R. L. Stevenson (1850-1894) during a game with his adopted son. The drawn map of the island inspired the writer to write an adventure book - «a fun story for boys about pirates, battles, and treasures».

The son of the owner of a Bristol tavern, Jim Hawkins, accidentally becomes the owner of a map to the island where pirate treasures are hidden. Along with Dr. Livesey, Squire Trelawney, and Captain Smollett, he sets out to search for the treasure. The boy and his friends are confronted by a gang led by the one-legged John Silver, who is also hunting for the immense wealth of Captain Flint…
