Summer of Bruno the Bear

Bruno the Bear and his dog Lola are the heroes of 4 picture books created by the contemporary Swedish artist Gunilla Ingves. Each book is dedicated to one of the seasons - winter, spring, summer, and autumn - and describes... a day in the life of the heroes, filled with activities and entertainment 'by season'. 
In the book 'Summer of Bruno the Bear', the bear and the dog work in the garden in the morning: weeding, watering, fertilizing the beds, and mowing the grass. After work, they go to the river, swim, observe water striders and diving beetles, then gather raspberries in the forest and even find a snake skin on the path. In the evening, the friends welcome guests and set the table in the garden. 
The main story of the book is 'framed' by notes from Bruno the Bear's observation diary. It contains many sketches and informative details from the world of nature during that particular season.
The first diary spread of 'Summer of Bruno the Bear' is dedicated to gardening: how to properly prepare fertilizer from nettles, where exactly to mow the grass, and why earthworms are needed. The second spread is about migratory birds, insects, and reptiles that can be found in our region during the summer. 

The books in the series about Bruno the Bear can be called a practical encyclopedia of the seasons for children aged 3-6 years. With gentle illustrations in pastel tones, numerous details to observe on each page, and charming main characters.
