The Last of the Mohicans

The cycle of novels about Nathaniel Bumpo - Leatherstocking (also known as Deerslayer, Hawkeye, Pathfinder, Long Rifle) brought James Fenimore Cooper (1789-1851) worldwide fame. The current edition of the novel "The Last of the Mohicans", which is part of the pentalogy about Natty Bumppo, includes a complete set of 137 illustrations by Polish artist Michal Elviro Andriolli. He gained global recognition as the best illustrator of Cooper after creating a cycle of 576 illustrations for his novels - "The Spy" (1884), "The Last of the Mohicans" (1884), "The Pioneers" (1885), "The Prairie" (1885). The publication also reproduces 17 colored illustrations by Newell Convers Wyatt.
