Stella Montgomery and the Monster from the Lake

The aunts of 11-year-old Stella Montgomery severely punished her for what they considered bad behavior - they sent her to the Wormwood Wilderness, an old family manor. Stella will have to live there with her cousins Stridefort and Hortensia and their governess Miss Aramintra. Stella is frightened by such prospects: she is not familiar with her cousins, and all governesses are mean and strict. However, upon arriving at the Wormwood Wilderness, Stella realizes that she was wrong! Miss Aramintra is the most unusual governess in the world, and Stridefort and Hortensia are eager to be friends with Stella. But frightening things are happening in the Wormwood Wilderness: children from the area are disappearing, just like many years ago... Stella suspects that all of this is somehow connected to the strange happenings in the old manor and the unusual birds and animals inhabiting the overgrown garden. Stella, Stridefort, and Hortensia take on the investigation, as this time their new friend has gone missing!
