Symbolism

Symbolism — a movement in art that originated in the 1860s in France and actively developed until about the 1910s. The mysterious artistic signs of the symbolists always sought to answer eternal questions, and the fantastic plots and painterly dreams, as far removed from the mundane and rational interpretations as possible, can be considered the forerunners of the fantasy genre popular today. The book thoroughly examines the most protest-oriented current of painting, reveals the multifaceted nature and importance of the existence of the soul, and presents works by the brightest representatives of symbolism.
