Greek Tales and Legends

The proposed collection of Greek tales and legends gives the reader the opportunity to not only touch upon the folklore of this country but also to get acquainted with the logic of its inhabitants, their way of perceiving the world, often so different from our own. In the fairytale space created by Greek imagination, biblical characters and figures from ancient mythology coexist and interact, and at first glance familiar plots suddenly gain a completely unexpected, impossible resolution for a Russian tale. . . The tales are adapted (without simplifying the original text) according to Ilya Frank's method: they are supplied with a literal translation into Russian and necessary lexical-grammatical commentary. . .
