The Future, or The Distant Past

The book includes essays by Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996) "A Tribute to Marcus Aurelius" and "Letter to Horace," dedicated to the culture, poetry, and philosophy of antiquity. These texts were written by the author in English in the 1990s and published in New York in the collection "On Grief and Reason". In this edition, they are included in the original language and in translation into Russian, representing the author not only as a poet but also as a deep and ironic thinker.
