How to become famous in a small village? Bake the perfect pie or… commit the perfect murder.

Having built a brilliant career, Agatha Raisin decided – enough is enough. So she sells her apartment in London and goes into early retirement in the idyllic village of Carsely. But the quiet and peaceful rural life is not what Agatha is used to. And she definitely wants to become a local star. And what could be better for that than a baking contest?
But everything goes wrong when Agatha not only loses miserably but also finds herself embroiled in the death of the judge, Mr. Cummings-Brown. It is right after a piece of her quiche that he suddenly dies. When it turns out that the secret ingredient of the pie is poison, Agatha has to reveal the unpleasant truth… She has never baked anything in her life! In fact, Agatha just bought store-bought pastries.
Now she has a new plan: she will solve this crime and definitely become everyone’s favorite. Apparently, Agatha soon manages to catch a whiff of the murderer because someone starts threatening her. It remains to be seen what will bring her trouble first – the uncovered deception or a curious nose?
