Unrecognizable

She is different from other children. She is afraid of loud sounds. She asks strange questions. She does not participate in games. She does not like to be touched. When she is scared, she hides between the wall and the bed. Her own body is a complex mechanism that needs constant control. Her mother refuses to recognize the problem, and when doctors say the word "autism," she screams that her daughter is normal.

One day she realizes that she will always be a stranger, not like everyone else. And then a thought comes to her mind: what if she gives up words, changes beyond recognition, and runs away from home? Perhaps then she will find her place in this strange, unpredictable, and illogical world?
