Grigori Rasputin

The book by the outstanding contemporary historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences A. N. Bokhanov, is dedicated to one of the most mysterious and well-known characters not only in Russian but also in world history — Grigori Rasputin. Rasputin is most often presented to the public not as a real person but as a demonic anti-hero, a dark symbol of the last chapter of monarchic Russia's existence. In this form, it is one of the earliest and most enduring products of black historical "PR".

This book, written based on a variety of documentary materials, debunks many established assessments and conclusions. The author reveals the real details of the biography of the Siberian peasant, analyzes the reasons for his public notoriety, and shows the actual role of this person in the specific circumstances of time and place.
