Spring Ritual

The ancient mountains of Yunmen hold secrets that are better left undisturbed. Four years ago, the Guan family was brutally murdered: father, mother, and two children. Only the young Zhuoyin survived — beaten, barely breathing, having fled into the blizzard that evening. She claims she did not see the killer. But the footprints in the snow tell a different story — she was the only one near the house. When Xiaokui, a huntress and student of the capital's sages, arrives in Yunmen, she learns about the long-ago crime and becomes involved in the investigation. In search of the truth, Xiaokui encounters ancient rituals, family curses, suppressed memories, and fears that can drive one mad. Logic crumbles under the weight of contradictions, but true horror befalls her when she discovers a new body.
