The Japanese schoolgirl Yuko had two mothers and three fathers.
The composition of her family changed seven times over seventeen years, and each time it became a challenge for her. Again and again, she, a small girl, and later a teenager, had to get used to new orders, new homes, and new «parents». But it was even harder to say goodbye to those she managed to get attached to when adults passed her on, like a relay baton.

Time passed, and despite the difficulties she experienced, Yuko made friends, graduated from university, and found love.
