Sam was used to obeying her sister Elena in everything, who is a year older than her. In childhood, their native San Juan Island seemed to the girls like a magical kingdom, where they could spend entire days walking through... the forests, swimming in the ocean, and having fun playing games. But as they grow up, life turns to the sisters with its cruel reality: their mother receives a terminal diagnosis, jobs are hard to find, and money is always lacking, not to mention the onset of the COVID pandemic...
