I'm not talking to you

Zhenya is 15 years old, and she has a peculiarity — she doesn't talk to everyone and not always, but this doesn't depend on her desire. In early childhood, Zhenya showed remarkable abilities: she started speaking and reading early, quickly... memorized poems, and was sociable and cheerful. But one incident in kindergarten changed everything. While Zhenya struggles with selective mutism and communicates with the world through photographs, teachers consider her unteachable, and classmates call her a mutant. However, in her inner monologues, Zhenya remains emotional, observant, and intelligent. Her warmth is enough for Uncle Frank, who quarreled with his relatives, and for her parents, who are struggling to survive without a salary in the 1990s, and even to save the cow Zoryka, which is being taken to slaughter. Sister Sonya and school friend Fed came up with a way out for Zhenya — she just has to follow their plan and decide to rebel at school, but reality is not a movie. Perhaps the tests from magazines, where Zhenya looks for answers, will suggest a way out? But they only confuse her even more.
And while the world around is breaking apart from the noise of the diolap, strikes, and the silent scream of Zhenya's favorite musician — Kurt Cobain, the girl herself finds a way to finally make herself heard by everyone. This story — is the story (or her own country) of that very Zhenya, familiar to many from the adapted story "Sasha's Country".
