Arkham Horror: The Card Game - Path to Carcosa: The Pallid Mask (expansion)
Attention! This is an expansion. To play, you will need the base version of "Arkham Horror: The Card Game" and the large expansion "Path to Carcosa".
In "The Pallid Mask", the fourth small expansion and sixth scenario in the "Path to... Carcosa" cycle, you and your fellow investigators will venture into the catacombs in search of a person who must be connected to the performance of the Yellow King at the Ward Theater in Arkham. However, with each new twist, you find that you are sinking deeper and deeper into thick darkness and madness. You may be able to navigate the tunnels to the very heart of the mystery, but there is also a chance that you may suddenly realize – the very space around you is shifting and constantly changing its shape, and you have long been lost within it.
What started as a simple walk through damp and sticky stone tunnels may become a road underground that leads you to the Gates of Hell and, ultimately, to your demise in the Halls of the Soul Well or among other forgotten and abandoned artifacts.
This expansion reuses game locations in a new way, introducing them into the game as you delve into the deeper abysses of the catacombs, and in a random order. Literally every step you take could be your last!
The plot will continue in the seventh scenario "The Ascendance of the Black Stars".
About the game:
"Arkham Horror: The Card Game" is a cooperative Living Card Game set in the myths of Lovecraft, in which 1-2 investigators (and with the second set – 3-4) can jointly explore the world of occultism, ancient gods, and secrets, while also battling their internal demons from the past.
Each player immerses themselves in the role of one of the investigators and builds their own deck based on their character's abilities. The gameplay is based on interconnected scenarios that set the pace for the game and create an artistic dramatic narrative. As a result, the sessions become incredibly atmospheric and intriguing! The set of scenarios turns into a campaign with a complete storyline and various outcomes. In each scenario, the investigators find themselves in different locations and explore them in search of clues necessary for advancing the investigation and uncovering deep secrets.
During the game, the investigators encounter enemies and curses, trying to overcome all adversities and defeat the enemies of the Myth. Throughout the campaign, each investigator gains experience, which allows the player to improve abilities and acquire new options, adding stronger cards to their deck.
The further and deeper you delve into the world of the unknown, the closer you are to madness! Players must keep an eye on the sanity of their investigators, protect them from horrors and monsters encountered along the way, but most importantly – unravel the mystery of Arkham!
