Shamans of the Larch River

Daniil does not like the northern town where he had to move with his parents at all. Former friends are mocking him in the messenger, asking if he has seen any polar bears yet and if the famous northern mosquitoes... have eaten him alive, but this only strengthens his loneliness and makes him want to go home more and more. To his native Saratov, away from the strange sunny nights, the icy river, and the incomprehensible local words and customs. And something strange is happening to Daniil here. He nearly drowns because of an unfamiliar girl—but his savior insists that there was no girl at all. At the fair, he meets a kind souvenir vendor—who for some reason does not appear on the video recording. And the local blacksmith, who seems to understand what is happening here, apparently hides the main thing. And now fog is rolling over the plain, and the ancient song of the jaw harp is buzzing, and the shadows of underground deer wander, swaying in the fog with their tusks, while an old man from the local spirits, he-he, complains about the road laid through sacred lands... Daniil has only one thing left to do—to figure all this out and learn not to be afraid of his own mysterious power. If, of course, he wants to protect himself and those he cares about.
