The collection includes original fairy tales by famous European writers inspired by the wisdom of the East: "The Butterfly That Stamped" by Rudyard Kipling, "The Nightingale" by Hans Christian Andersen, and "The Caliph Stork" by Wilhelm Hauff. Young readers will encounter caliphs and viziers, princesses and wizards, talking animals and exotic birds. The filigree illustrations by Asya Lubimova make the book resemble a handwoven Oriental carpet.
