Stepping "beyond" physics, the revered metaphysical tradition of philosophy continued to draw from its natural foundation, regularly turning to plant metaphors and allegories, while leaving them on the periphery of its attention and thus "devaluing, instrumentalizing, and trivializing" life itself....
