Jane of Lantern Hill

Jane, for as long as she can remember, lived on Happy Street with her kind mother and strict grandmother. It's just that living on Happy Street was not very fun for her at all.
 
In the huge old mansion, running and... speaking loudly are forbidden, one must behave very formally at the table, read the Bible aloud in the evenings, and generally be quieter than water and lower than grass. However, even following all these rules, Jane feels that her grandmother dislikes her for some incomprehensible reason. One day, Jane receives a letter from her father, whom she has never seen and believed to be long dead. Now this mysterious man invites Jane to spend an entire summer with him on Prince Edward Island (a magical place well-known to fans of Lucy Maud Montgomery's work!). Filled with fear and ominous premonitions, the girl sets off on her journey, not even suspecting what amazing worlds and incredible events await her in the future…
