In 1965, historian and orientalist Igor Vsevolodovich Mojeiko (1934–2003), known in the scientific community for his works on the history of Southeast Asia, defended his candidate dissertation on the topic "The Pagan State (11th–13th centuries)", and in 1981 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Buddhist Sangha and State in Burma". Meanwhile, all Soviet teenagers (and many adults too!) were engrossed in the works of the famous science fiction writer Kir Bulichev, known throughout the country. And only a few knew that the scholar Igor Mojeiko and the science fiction writer Kir Bulichev were the same person.
