Oscar and I. Our Places

A new story by Maria Parr — «the Norwegian Astrid Lindgren», whose books our readers have discovered and loved in brilliant translations by Olga Drobot, is finally available in Russian from the publishing house «SamTamBooks» (Switzerland).

Our Places» — is about the life of eight-year-old Ida and her five-year-old brother Oscar: about the monster hiding in the closet, and the safari in a concrete pipe, about lost vampires, about how as we grow up, the world around us shrinks, and growing up brings not only joyful changes but also losses.  And family remains a place where you will always be understood and accepted.

«Oscar and I» has been awarded the main literary prize in Norway — the Brage Prize (2023), the children's literature prize Nynorsk barnelitteraturpris (2023), and the Italian Premio Letteratura Ragazzi di Cento (2025). In 2025, it was included in the international catalog of the best children's and youth books «White Ravens».
