One Hundred Days of War

Konstantin Mikhailovich Simonov (1915–1979) — a famous Soviet writer, author of the trilogy "Alive and the Dead," as well as many canonical poems of the wartime period ("Wait for Me," "Do You Remember, Alyosha, the Roads of Smolensk?" etc.).
During the... Great Patriotic War, as a military correspondent, K.M. Simonov visited many fronts from the Black Sea to the Barents Sea. The book "One Hundred Days of War" was written based on the front-line notebooks that the writer kept in the first months of the war. Even during the war years, he literary processed them and dictated them to a stenographer, and a quarter of a century later, having dug through the archives, he carefully checked and commented on them.
