Mathematics. Training Exercises. 4th Grade

The trainer helps solve the most important task – to teach a fourth grader to count quickly and accurately. The best way to bring counting skills to automatism is to solve examples for speed. The degree of material assimilation is... assessed by the time spent solving and the number of errors made. All tasks are grouped into standard blocks. In each of them, the student needs to complete a short, medium, and long series of examples arranged in columns of varying lengths. They are called “Sprint”, “Medium Distance”, and “Marathon”. Before starting to solve each column, it is necessary to time it, and upon completion, record the minutes and seconds. After that, the answers are checked. If any mistakes were made, the number of errors must also be recorded. Gradually, as the time spent decreases, the number of errors will tend to zero. The manual is intended for use both at home and in school as additional material.
