The trainer helps to solve the most important task — to teach first graders to count quickly and accurately. The best way to develop counting skills to automation is to solve problems for speed. The degree of material mastery is... assessed based on the time spent on solving and the number of mistakes made. All tasks are grouped into standard blocks. In each of them, the student needs to complete a short, medium, and long series of problems arranged in columns of different lengths. They are called “Sprint”, “Medium Distance”, and “Marathon”. Before starting to solve each column, time needs to be recorded, and upon completion — minutes and seconds should be noted. After that, the answers are checked. If mistakes were made, their number should also be recorded. Gradually, as the time spent decreases, the number of mistakes will tend toward zero. The manual is intended for use both at home and at school as additional material.
