In 1980, the production of the Tu-134B modification began. In this modification, instead of the navigator's cockpit, a radar system "Grozа-134" was installed, which allowed to combine the functions of the navigator and the co-pilot, reducing the crew to 3 people.
The number of passenger seats increased to 80.
