However, reality is different from his fantasies, and the Knight of the Sad Countenance, as his servant dubbed him, inevitably finds himself in ridiculous situations: he challenges a flock of sheep, frees captured bandits, or suffers defeats in battles against windmills. Initially conceived as a parody of chivalric romances, 'Don Quixote' has been translated into all major languages of the world and included in the 'World Library' as the 'best book of all times and peoples.'
